Birth (2004)

Birth Movie

Anna (Nicole Kidman) has lost her husband who suffered from a heart-attack out jogging. Now, after 10 years she is engaged to be married, when she meets a 10 year old boy who claims to be her dead husband Sean.
Although she reacts to that story as anyone would (thinking:”What a load of rubbish”) soon she starts investigating the boy and spending time with him under the pretence that she wants to set his head straight and cure him.
More and more she starts to believe that he is her husband – especially as he comes up with intimate information only her husband could know.
I did not find the film convincing and in difference to Anna never believed the boy is her reincarnated husband. There are some disturbing scenes where Anna kisses the boy and sits in a bathtub with him naked. For that the boy deserves a nomination for his performance although I do not understand how Anna can find him convincing as her husband.
He is monosyllabic with an unmovable face – surely, if he was her husband he would try and convince her a little bit more than writing notes that say “Don’t marry Joseph”?
There is a good twist to the film later on, which in my information is the best part of the film, but I am not going to tell you as I would spoil it for you if you are intending to watch it ?
