A young man named Tristan is in love with the beautiful but quite cold Victoria and tries to win her affection by going on a journey to discover a fallen star. His quest takes him into the forbidden and mysterious area outside of the village. During his journmey Tristan manages to find the fallen star, which has transformed into a beautiful girl named Yvaine. However it turnes out that Tristan is not the only one looking for the star. Four princes and three royal ghosts require the star as they fight for the throne. Besides this Tristan also has to stand up to an evil witch who is looking for the star to give her back her beauty and turn back time. During this time Tristan faces sevreal other challenges but gradually his erason for wanting the fallen star changes as he falls in love with Yvaine.
